The SAWC is an active social club for South African women who find themselves based temporarily or permanently in the Netherlands. It is a club where women of all ages and stations can make lasting friendships and learn new things about living in Holland.
Our members participate in group activities, visit interesting places together, raise funds for South African charities and feel “at home” in each other’s company. We meet at least twice a month and try to cater for the interests of all our members.
The SAWC is a non-profit organization and is run by a committee of volunteers
Members are kept updated on news and events through our bi-monthly magazine as well as regular e-mail correspondence.
The club is based mainly in Den Haag, but we have occasional functions in Rotterdam and Amsterdam.
In order to become a member of the Club one needs to:
be a current
South African/Zimbabwean/Namibian passport holder, or be married
to a South African citizen, or have been
born in South Africa, or have lived
in South Africa and may have current interests and
connections through family in SA.
Our club started in May 1987 and currently has a membership
of 78 ladies.
